Final Cut Pro X recently received a significant performance upgrade due to Apple's Metal API. The new engine is able to enhance playback and speed up rendering, real-time effects, as well as exporting video content. Apple has indicated that the new metal engine is able to make video editing 20% faster for users on 15-inch MacBook Pro computers, and 35% faster for users of the iMac Pro computer.
The improvements to Apple's Final Cut Pro X will drastically improve the program, by reducing editing times for users. Video editing can be a lengthy process and simplifying it can allow users to do more on the program. Additionally, the performance boost could draw more users to the program.
