Nike and Union Join on the Field General Sneaker

Fashion brand Union is working in collaboration with Nike to launch a new iteration of the Field General sneaker model this season. It is a silhouette that first launched back in 1982 and was originally made for the gridiron. Union updates the retro model with elements that celebrate the 80s but also adds accents that are true to its brand language.
It takes on a design theme of a deconstructed look which can be seen in the form of overlapping layers along the upper. It has suede fabric for a textural contrast against the leather accents. The Swoosh branding on the side of the shoe is done with a tumbled material over a netted mesh panel continued at the toe box. The hues are defined by brown, pink, and cream for an ice-cream aesthetic.
