Uber recently announced the introduction of its new Family Profiles feature, which makes it easier for one person to pay for several others. Although the ridesharing service already allows users to split fares digitally, this new features makes it easier to organize paying for family members, friends and even colleagues.
To use the new Family Profiles feature, users simply go into their Uber settings and select 'Add a Family Profile.' The app will then bring up all of the user's contacts and ask them to select those they would like to add to their group. Those chosen contacts will then receive an invitation and an option to request a ride using the group leader's payment details.
Although the new feature is aimed at parents helping their children pay for rides, the feature can also be used for business purposes.
