A much more subtle and work-friendly addition to the world of nail DIYs, the 'Faded Floral Mani' by The Beauty Department shows readers how to achieve a vintage look for their nails.
Surprisingly easy to do, although requiring a number of different shades of polish, the DIY manicure is a welcomed and simplified tutorial. Because it doesn't require a steady hand or a ridiculous amount of attention to detail, this nail technique is mess-friendly. The faded technique is actually created by diluting whatever varnish is used with nail polish remover, which provides a slightly milkier and softer appearance to hyper-pigmented varnish. A paintbrush (separate from those that come with polish) is needed in order to do this critical part of the tutorial.
Though requiring a few more tools than other manicures, this DIY is still relatively doable and offers a whimsical and understated look.
