The Exo-Prosthetic is a response to traditional prostheses which can both be expensive because of their complexity and the qualified labor required to customize them for each patient, and can also have a very robotic and mechanical appearance. The latter may seem like an unimportant point, but it can actually worsen the sense of loss and psychological trauma of amputees.
The Exo-Prosthetic makes use of 3D scanning, modeling and printing technology to create a fully customizable titanium exoskeleton that perfectly replicates the form of the amputated limb, but also has a pleasing aesthetic and design rather than merely looking like a robotic attachment.
The prosthetic is lightweight as it is essentially a hollowed-out exoskeleton. The surface of the exoskeleton can be customized with patterns and colors or can be used for a silicone sleeve.
