Evercade Announced the 'EXP-R' at a Lower Price

The Evercade EXP-R is a refreshed version of the Evercade line of retro gaming consoles, designed to provide a more accessible and cost-effective entry into the Evercade ecosystem. The EXP-R model focuses exclusively on handheld gaming, featuring a charcoal grey design with turquoise accents on the Menu, Start, and Select buttons, as well as the power button. It includes WiFi for firmware updates and a TATE button for playing vertical games with an accurate screen ratio. The console has a new textured grip for enhanced comfort during extended play sessions. However, it omits the Mini-HDMI out present in the previous model, emphasizing its handheld-only use.

The Evercade EXP-R is priced at £99.99, $99.99, and €119.99, marking a significant price reduction from its predecessor. The console will be bundled with a USB-C charging cable and one Evercade cartridge collection, which will utilize the new Giga Cart format. Pre-orders for the Evercade EXP-R are expected to begin on April 30, 2024, with the product’s release slated for July 2024.
