Rapunzel may be the inspiration for this incredible Ellie Noble series entitled ‘Soft Ties.’ After all, it’s more common in fiction than reality to have women grow their hair out to preposterous lengths. In fact, the girl in these illustrations has so much hair that she can practically fashion herself a skipping rope while it’s still attached to her head.
Extraordinary hair length aside, ‘Soft Ties’ is notable for the incredibly realistic detailing Ellie Noble put into each piece. The braided blonde locks of the subject are illustrated with the same luster and physics of real hair, and the way Noble weaves it around the woman’s body is extremely artful and captivating. Couple that with the porcelain complexion of the female subject and you have an illustrated series that viewers can’t take their eyes off of.
