Taobao's 'Elderly Mode' Helps Seniors Navigate Online Shopping

E-commerce site Taobao has announced that it will launch an updated version of its senior citizen shopping feature ahead of 'Tmall Double 11,' an annual online shopping festival that the company hosts.

Starting now, Taobao's 'Elderly Mode' will include new features to protect senior customers' rights by supporting them further in the product refund process. In addition, the mode will now offer senior customers the option to shop for medicine and groceries. Moreover, it will even provide senior users with a feature that will connect them with free pharmacist consultations.

On average, the elderly need better guidance and more help when navigating e-commerce platforms, which is precisely what Taobao's elderly mode aims to address. Other features of this demographic-specific shopping mode include text enlargements, voice assistants, and information simplification.
