The 'Knuckles-5' Can Be Operated With the Thumb & Finger Of One Hand
Rahul Kalvapalle — January 15, 2021 — Tech
The Knuckles-5 is a cleverly designed drone controller that makes it possible for drone pilots to comfortably and confidently navigate drones using just one hand.
Currently, drone controllers tend to be built around a classic double-joystick design that requires the use of both hands. The Knuckles-5 gets around this by using a pair of tracking balls that are designed to be used in conjunction with the index finger and thumb respectively, with each digit responsible for controlling a different axis of movement. The controller also comes with an internal mechanism that automatically notes the direction in which the controller is being pointed.
Set to be made available for price point between $250 and $300, the Knuckles-5 drone controller aims to give added flexibility to drone pilots, and will make it possible for people who may only have one functional hand due to health reasons or accident history to deftly control drones.
