Taking a page out of Snapchat's social media set up, Facebook is currently exploring incorporating self-destructing digital messaging into its interface in France. This feature will allow users to send messages to one another with an expiration date that leads the text to fully disappear after a certain period of time.
The option of having messages delete is appealing to many social media users that would rather not have a on-going record of their discussions kept on virtual media platforms. Facebook explains the new self-destructing messaging feature as, "Disappearing messages gives people another fun option to choose from when they communicate on Messenger." Whether the feature will be available to all Facebook users in the near future is still up for discussion.
