Rado Transforms its 'DiaStar' Model for the Watch's 60th Anniversary

Rado’s ‘DiaStar’ model is turning 60 this year, and to kick off celebrations the watchmakers have released a new iteration of the iconic watch in collaboration with Alfredo Häberli. The ‘DiaStar Original 60-Year Anniversary Edition’ is a reworked version of the 1962 watch with a reduced number of facets applied to the sapphire crystal watch glass. This effect creates a ‘pie-pan’ effect that accentuates the innovative case shape, transforming the watch into a minimalist's dream. The watch is made from Ceramos, an alloy material that is made from 90% titanium carbide and a deviation from the original design. This material makes the watch lightweight and comfortable on the wrist.
The watch comes with a stainless steel Milanese mesh bracelet and is rounded off with a gray fabric strap. The ‘DiaStar Original 60-Year Anniversary Edition’ and another ‘Diastar Original’ are available now at Rado.
