The United Kingdom's 'Destiny Support' Seeks Out Engagement

Destiny Support is a community interest company with the Social Enterprise Mark that aims to provide support and training to at-risk youth. The project is unique in that it incorporates intergenerational initiatives in order to create profits that benefit the community at-large. In September 2011, the team was proud to be the first organization to receive a Social Enterprise Mark in Slough.

“We work to reduce social exclusion among the hard-to-reach and under-represented groups who live in the Slough and district community," said Sue Njuguna, Head of Operations. "We help them to regain their independence, advise on accommodation, and help promote independent living.”

The end goal is to tackle social exclusion by targeting those in the local community who may not have had the necessary support available to them.
