Designer Vivienne Westwood Redesigns Virgin Atlantic's Employee Outfits

High-fashion UK designer Vivienne Westwood recently gave Richard Branson's Virgin Atlantic flight crew a fabulous makeover with a new set of ultra fabulous flight attendant uniforms. Starting in September every crew member of Virgin Atlantic's 7,500 flight attendant team will be sporting these original Westwood designs.

Westwood is often known for her boisterously grungy punk-rock style. In contrast, her designs for Virgin Atlantic are quite tame but they still capture Britain's design culture in a stylishly dapper way. The uniforms feature a male and female uniform design that are both nods to vintage silhouettes and color schemes. The female flight attendant suit features Westwood's original 'Bettina' jacket in a blood red color with a stylish pencil skirt and ruffled blouse. The male flight attendant uniform comes with a three-piece deep burgundy Oxford suit.
