Jiyong Kim's Daylight Matters Capsule Explores Sustainbility
South Korean designer Jiyong Kim introduces its latest capsule for the season with the unveiling of the Daylight Matters collection. He creates the capsule for his graduate menswear capsule and focuses strongly on sustainability throughout all of the eight pieces that make up the range. It takes vintage garments and brings it into new angles, using textile industry offcuts and vintage fabrication.
He makes sure to stay away from traditional square cut textile patterning and uses as little water and harmful chemicals as possible. To ensure of this, he uses standard dyeing methods to cut down any waste production. He continues with this with a powerful natural source of energy to bring the collection to life as every item is made from reclaimed fabric and hardware adorning mannequins left in the sun to showcase true weathering.
