WhatsApp is expanding its Events feature to include people who do not have an account, making it easier to organise plans across different social circles. The updated planning hub, found in the app’s settings, brings event creation, invitations, RSVPs and upcoming plans together in one place.
Hosts can personalise invitations with a header photo and send custom reminders to guests. People without WhatsApp can view event details and respond to invitations without signing up. Privacy features also keep the host’s phone number hidden from unfamiliar guests, while non-users cannot see the event address until they have RSVP’d.
By opening invitations to non-users, WhatsApp is making its event tools more accessible without requiring everyone involved to join the platform.
