These chorizo shawarma crepe recipe gives some international flair to the thin pancake. Created by Gabriel Carera from the food blog The Artful Desperado and featured on the La Crema website, the Chorizo Shawarma Crepes also come with lemon tahini sauce.
The crepe recipe brings together Latin spice with the chorizo and Middle Eastern elements with the shawarma meat preparation. North African spices like za'atar, ras el hanout and cumin are also used in the filling. Instead of going with pita or other bread, the ingredients are held together by crepes, introducing a light European pastry to the mix. The main course dish features a "very tangy and garlicky tahini sauce" as well, and is garnished with tomatoes and sprouts.
