Wide Plank Outdoor Furniture

HAY and Rietveld Originals Relaunch the Crate Collection

HAY continues to grow the relaunched Crate collection that is designed by Gerrit Rietveld back in 2934 originally. The new drop is based on the classic Crate chair complete with wide shapes in the form of planks and sits at a very low silhouette.

Rolf Hay, the co-founder of HAY speaks about the chair, noting that “The Crate Chair is a wonderful example of a product designed by an architect who was seeking harmony between architecture and interior. It’s hard to imagine something which is closer to our core design values because it was really Rietveld’s mission to create a super cool, affordable, open-source furniture range for everybody – taking an incredibly democratic approach to design, which of course fits HAY extremely well.”
