CD Projekt Red is expanding The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered with community mod support on consoles, giving players new ways to customise the game. The remastered version is available as a free upgrade for existing owners on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with console modding adding a new layer to the experience.
PS5 players can access more than 40 mods at launch through an in-game mod.io menu, allowing them to browse and install community-created content without leaving the game. The feature makes mod support feel more integrated into the console experience, although using mods on PS5 or Xbox disables trophies and achievements.
The update gives a long-running RPG a way to evolve beyond its original release without requiring players to move to PC. It also reflects a wider shift towards bringing community-created content directly into console games, giving players more control over how they revisit established titles.
