Pool to SF is a brand new revolutionary service, being offered up by Uber, that is essentially a carpooling commuter service. There are undoubtedly a lot of unanswered questions surrounding this sort of business model, which is why the service is currently only being offered in beta mode.

The service will get you from the South Bay cities to San Francisco morning for a price of $20 to $26, which represents a fair saving over the fuel and parking costs you would have to incur with your own vehicle. You can even divide the fare if there are more than one passengers taking the same vehicle.

It is quite possible that services like Pool to SF could eventually become commonplace in sprawled out urban areas where driving is a pain in the neck and transit doesn't always work well.
