Popular Japanese denim brand EDWIN launched its latest Spring/Summer 2018 offering and it contains a range of imaginative and authentic comic book t-shirt designs. The fashion label tapped French animation director, illustrator and graphic novel author Ugo Bienvenu for the "future-pop-inspired" capsule.
The Spring/Summer 2018 tee collection consists of five original and exclusive artworks, largely informed by the graphic novel universe both structurally and aesthetically. The comic book t-shirt designs boast a certain retro vibe that is reminiscent of how the illustrated books were printed before the onset of the digital age. Ugo Bienvenu chose to relate thought-provoking concepts and intriguing character interactions in a poppy and playful style. The dialogue-free comic strips are contained in a panel frame, provoking the consumer to freely interpret the imagery.
