Collectible Sports Biographies

Assouline Rafael Nadal Volume Chronicles His Tennis Legacy

Assouline released a book about Rafael Nadal, turning the tennis star’s story into a large-scale visual biography. The book traces his life and legacy through photographs and reflections.

Jon Wertheim wrote the volume, and the images draw on private collections from Nadal’s inner circle. It also features voices from Roger Federer, King Felipe VI of Spain, Mery Perello, Sebastian Nadal, Toni Nadal, and Carlos Moy, spanning Roland-Garros and Manacor, Mallorca.

The book is available in Classic and Ultimate editions, giving the project a collectible feel. The Ultimate version arrives in a clamshell case modeled after the clay of Court Philippe-Chatrier, and limited copies are signed by Nadal. That mix of archive, sport, and design makes it feel more like a keepsake than a standard biography.
