Handmade Aluminum E-Bikes

The Chiller ebike from ChillFab is a unique electric bicycle that combines the retro styling of a BMX cruiser with the modern technology of a pedal-assist system. The Chiller ebike features a custom-made aluminum frame with a cast yoke, a rigid front fork, and a hinged seat that reveals a fuel cell. The bike has a distinctive look that evokes the iconic Raleigh Chopper, with a high handlebar, a banana seat, and a sissy bar. The Chiller ebike is designed by ChillFab, a side project of the custom workshop Butcher Garage, in collaboration with Ogle Noor, the original design firm of the Chopper. As ChillFAB is not a full-blown company of its own, Butcher Garage merely operates an official ChillFAB Instagram page, rather than a full website.

The Chiller ebike is powered by a Bosch Performance Line motor, which delivers up to 85 Nm of torque and supports the rider’s pedaling up to 25 km/h. The motor is paired with a Bosch PowerPack battery, which has a capacity of 500 Wh and a range of up to 100 km. The bike also features a Bosch SmartphoneGrip, which turns the rider’s smartphone into a full-feature dash. The bike has an eight-speed Shimano Alfine internally geared hub, hydraulic Shimano disc brakes, and 26-inch front and 24-inch rear wheels. The Chiller ebike is classified as a bicycle in most countries, and does not require a license or registration to operate. The bike is available for pre-order on ChillFab’s eBay store, with a price of $4,999 USD and an estimated delivery date of June 2024.
