Nintendo Announced the 'Chill Season' Update to 'Splatoon 3'

Nintendo announced the first major title update to 'Splatoon 3,' titled 'Chill Season.' Chill Season will kick off on December 1st, 2022, bringing players new maps, weapons, costumes, game modes, and unlockables.

One of the most anticipated game modes released with this event is 'Big Run,' a cooperative survival game mode serving as an alternative to 'Salmon Run.' In Big Run, players must work together to defeat waves of large 'Salmonids,' one of the enemy groups in the video game. Big Run then rewards players based on performance, providing them with increased rank, currency, and gear.

Aside from Big Run, Chill Season brings players an all-new 'Catalogue,' which is a 100-page reward book where each page unlocks based on the amount of experience points the player earns. Lastly, for competitive players, Nintendo is releasing 'X battles' with Chill Season. X Battles are high-rank competitive game modes restricted to only X-Rank players, the highest tier in Splatoon 3.
