In taking discarded vinyls and melting them into conical forms, unusual yet effective iPod amplifiers are born.
It's a meticulous process that enables these once flat objects to be shaped into smooth flaring funnels. The application of heat makes the material easy to manipulate, but keeps the fine grooves of the long-playing phonograph records in tact. Two stands are incorporated with one to prop up the mouth of the passive amp and the other to dock the smartphone inside. The small speakers located around the handset project sound that bounces with clarity out of Change the Record.
