Scratch-Resistant Watch Cases

Apple Offers Ceramic Series 12 Watches

Apple's Series 12 arrives with a ceramic case option made by Apple, featuring pearl white and night blue ceramic finishes that are positioned as a pricier, more durable case choice. The Series 12 ceramic is presented as more scratch-resistant than titanium and sits above the standard aluminum and titanium options.

The ceramic configuration starts at $899 and reaches $949 for the 46mm size, compared with the Series 12's $399 starting price for base models. Apple did not reuse the 'Apple Watch Edition' name, but ceramic has been used previously on Series 2, 3 and 5 as the brand's premium material choice.

For buyers this means a harder, higher-cost case option that prioritizes scratch resistance and luxury materials. The return of ceramic restores a historic premium alternative for collectors and shoppers who prefer refined case materials, and it expands the Series 12's material lineup.
