What is a snood exactly? It’s a cross between a scarf and a hood, but suprisingly, the word ‘snood’ isn’t a hybrid word that lazy fashionistas made-up. It actually harks back to the 8th century when women wore close-fitting hoods over the back of the head.

The Burberry snood was introduced during their Autumn/Winter shows and although it was sent down the catwalk adorning men only, like the scarf, it’s a versatile accessory for both genders.
