Yamaha is bringing its second-generation digital saxophones to the U.S. with the YDS-152 and YDS-122. The pair gives beginners and experienced players 89 onboard voices, so one instrument can cover far more than sax parts. It follows the YDS-150 and YDS-120, keeping the sax-style layout while widening what one instrument can cover.
USB-C makes the instruments easier to connect to computers and compatible smart devices for app-based setting changes and MIDI use. The YDS-152 also adds Bluetooth and motion-sensing control, extending it from a practice piece into a more flexible digital instrument. Both models are available now in the U.S.
The 89-voice library turns a digital saxophone into a broader tool for practice, rehearsal and experimentation. U.S. availability now widens Yamaha's reach to musicians who need quiet play without giving up sound variety.
