For his art series entitled Deconstructed, artist Brandon Edgar Allen takes apart video game controllers and lays them bare for us all to see.
Brandon Edgar Allen collects what appears to be every controller from video game console history, from the Xbox 360 and Wii controllers all the way down to the classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) controller and even the joystick. Allen then carefully opens each controller, exposing their vital insides he then carefully lays them on the floor, piece by piece and photographs them.
Brandon Edgar Allen's Deconstructed series allows us to fully take in the evolution of console controllers through the years -- and not just from a design point of view but a technological one as well. To see more video game controller art from this series, head over to his website.
