The Boyhood Photo Series Reveals the Chemistry Between Siblings

The Boyhood photo series is a project, put together by Slovak photographer Kata Sedlak, that chronicles the playtime of her two young sons Oliver and Alan. This photo series aims to examine the secret language that exists between the two kids, and reveal that "nothing is too serious and every day is just a game."

The series was photographed in Sedlak's own home in the town of Piestany in Slovakia. The photos captured here are just some among many vignettes collected during the children's early years. Growing up with a photographer mother, the children long considered the camera to be an extension of their mother, which is why they were able to act completely naturally -- something is clearly reflected in the Boyhood photo series.

Ultimately, this photo series transports the photographer back to her own childhood, and celebrates the beauty and complexity of childhood play.
