The Boundless Library project, launched by the New York Public Library, is an app available for iPad users that will enable people to search the library’s main stacks. The goal of the app is to make available what would otherwise be hidden parts of the library’s collection. The iPad app allows the reader an immersive experience of the content.
The Boundless Library project also promises to make itself available to more people that would otherwise not be able to visit the actual physical location in New York City. The free Boundless Library app contains documents, images, films, audio and essays. The Boundless Library app fits within the movement of making information available to a greater number of people for free by leveraging emerging technology.
