Sequined Power Frocks

Blake Lively in Balmain Authoritative 'Paillette' Dress at Emmys After-Party

Sequins don’t have to look garish! Just look at Blake Lively in Balmain. She wore the designer’s ‘Paillette’ dress for the Emmy Awards after-party and looked pretty darn sophisticated—even authoritative (although I think the shoulder pads may have had something to do with it).

The ‘Paillette’ dress features black sequins all over, with a super plunging neckline, 3/4 sleeves and sharp shoulders. It could have looked tawdry but Lively tamed it with simple green jewels, cutout heels and a chic, braided pony-tail. So, if you’re ever wondering how to wear sequins, just think back to Blake Lively in Balmain!
