Differentiation through branding in the alcohol industry is extremely important and 'Black Vodka' has embraced that with a flair. Design firm Anti & Grandpeople created dark and minimalistic packaging to brand the Norwegian vodka as exciting and edgy.
The booze bottles feature text censored by white strips to simulate the effects of alcohol. Each bottle states "Remember when we - out of control and - ended up with two - lights off, but the - weekend." As a result, the text implies that drinking Black Vodka results in amnesia and blackouts.
Anti & Grandpeople worked with distribution firm Arcus to make the perilous vodka a reality. Black Vodka can currently be found in government-sanctioned liquor stores, clubs and bars across Norway.
