The Bike Tire Pressure System (BTPS) is a new device that lets you easily monitor your tires' pressure. BTPS is a Bluetooth device that affixes onto regular bike tires and tube-less bike tires. The device then sends data about your tires' pressure to your smartphone, smartwatch or computer. The battery powering the BTPS can run for 20,000 hours on standby and has 200 hours of operation time.
Those who don't regularly cycle may not understand why you should hawkishly monitor your tire pressure. Like cars, bike tires lose air over time. Also like cars, an under-inflated tire can lead to a decrease in performance. The BTPS aims to eliminate lost performance due to under-inflation by letting you constantly monitor your tires' PSI. The project is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.
