Barvecue, a company specializing in wood-smoked, plant-based meats, has announced the launch of Barvecue® Carnitas, a frozen meat-free chicken product that can be used in a variety of classic Mexican dishes such as tacos, fajitas, burritos, enchiladas, and more.
Barvecue® Carnitas will be available in the frozen food section at over 380 retail locations throughout the United States, including Lowes Foods, Safeway, and Earth Fare. Like Barvecue's other plant-based protein products, the Carnitas are entirely vegan, gluten-free, and Non-GMO verified. In addition, the company offers the product in food service packs, catering to restaurants that need larger quantities.
"For too long, great-tasting Hispanic-inspired plant-based meat options have been almost non-existent in US grocery stores and restaurants. Barvecue is excited to lead the way in the plant-based meat category as we bring this amazing product to market," said the Founder & CEO of Barvecue, Lee Cooper.
