Bottle Stopper Barstools

The Bar{k} Stool is Composed of a Fitting Material for a Wine Bar

Designers are coming to recognize cork as an extremely versatile material, in addition embodying eco-friendly perks. A massive amount of the tree-derived substance has been used in the manufacturing of the Bar{k} Stool for the clever creation of a seating object in more ways than one.

Brandon Kershner teamed up with cork company Amorim Group to realize this idea of producing a biodegradable, renewable and 100% sustainable piece of furniture. It's quite the accomplishment! The slightly spongy material has been modeled into a sculptural block featuring a multifaceted form with a little seat and backrest worked into it.

The Bar{k} Stool is surprisingly solid, despite lightweight nature with which it is generally associated. It easily supports the weight of a sitter, elevating him to the level of a high countertop where, appropriately, he might be served a glass of wine from a stoppered bottle.
