Glashütte Original is giving its Senator collection a new look with two watches featuring aventurine glass dials. The Art Déco Blue model comes in platinum, while the Art Nouveau Green combines a green dial with a red-gold case. Both designs leave out traditional hour markers and a date display, allowing the textured dials to take centre stage.
The shimmering effect comes from metal oxides within the aventurine glass, creating reflective flecks that form a different pattern on every dial. Each watch is assembled and regulated by a single watchmaker and powered by the automatic Calibre 36-16, which offers a 100-hour power reserve.
Sales begin on 29 October. The Art Déco Blue is priced at AUD $55,200, while the Art Nouveau Green costs AUD $52,200. With their individual dial patterns and traditional watchmaking approach, the two releases offer collectors a distinctive take on the mechanical dress watch.
