NVIDIA presents its latest technology in the form of the Avatar Cloud Engine, which is designed to allow gamers to speak authentically to NPCs (non-playable characters). The company unveiled this new feature during its generative AI keynote that took place at Computex this year.
To showcase the new technology, NVIDIA presented a demo dubbed Kairos with a playable character speaking to an NPC named Jin in what appears to be a dystopic Ramen shop. The concept is to simply allow players to speak into their headset and an NPC will be able to respond in a given context, which can create a more natural interaction. The demo presented was created in Unreal Engine 5 to showcase the company's ray-tracing and other GPU elements.
