Google has announced it will release an Android app that can create live audio transcription from the users' surroundings. This app focuses on improving accessibility for those with hearing impairments, by providing them with written text of the speech around them. This app can also be utilized by individuals who may need assistance understanding a language. The app can assist with translation by providing users with the text from a conversation in their desired language.

The app also has the ability to differentiate speech form different people. This feature will allow hearing impaired users to more easily take part in conversations with multiple people. This sets this app apart from previous iterations of audio transcription apps, with only single speaker capabilities.
