Parley for the Oceans has been making sizable strides in the sector for sustainability in fashion and in June it extends its eco-conscious collaboration with sportswear brand adidas in updating an iconic athletic hoodie.
In the past, the not-for-profit organization has teamed up with brands like Corona to raise funds and awareness about sea life pollution. This month, the well-intentioned business reworks adidas' Z.N.E. hoodie and re-imagines it with a new material that is called Parley Ocean Plastic. It is made out of waste that has been gathered from beach sites and coastal communities. The new fabric is reported to be "both practical and eco-innovative." Thanks to the lightweight properties, the thermo-regulation and the strong adaptability of the material, the performance of the original design of the athletic hoodie is not compromised.
