Portable Rescue Floats

The Ark Hero No.1 is a Manually Inflated Portable Water Rescue Device

The Ark Hero No.1 is a compact emergency flotation device developed by frontline police officers to improve water rescues away from fixed lifesaving stations. Winner of the 2025 Design Intelligence Award Future Talents program, the portable design folds into a puck-shaped carrying case before expanding into a segmented rescue float using a built-in hand pump. Designed for storage in vehicles, boats and emergency equipment, the device provides a compact alternative to conventional life rings while remaining ready for repeated use.

Unlike traditional inflatable rescue devices that rely on CO₂ cartridges, Ark Hero No.1 uses manual inflation to simplify long-term storage, transport and maintenance. Its segmented buoyancy chambers continue to float even if one section is damaged, while reflective bands improve visibility in low-light rescue situations. The hard-shell zippered case protects the device during storage and allows it to be attached to vehicles, duty belts or rescue vessels.
