Integrated Graphics Card Enhancements

Intel Announced its Meteor Lake CPUs Feature Arc iGPUs

Intel announced that its upcoming Meteor Lake generation of mobile CPUs will feature Arc iGPUs. The previous 13th-generation Intel CPUs feature Iris XE graphics, meaning the shift to Arc iGPUs will be on improved architecture with vastly improved performance.

The integrated Arc graphics card features eight cores running at 2.5Ghz per core. The CPU speed will vary based on the model, as there will still be Intel Core, Core Ultra, and other variations of the CPU lineup, as Intel shifted its naming scheme from Core i3, i5, i7, and i9, for simplicity's sake.

According to early benchmarks of the Arc iGPUs, the cards offer performance competitive with the AMD Radeon 780M, which is currently the most powerful iGPU on the market for consumers. The 780M is found in popular gaming devices such as the ASUS ROG Ally or Lenovo Legion GO, as well as in countless high-end laptops.
