The Jil Sander Printed Crew Neck T-Shirt by Artist Amy Kao

Iconic designer Jil Sander recently teamed up with artist Amy Kao when creating this vivid Printed Crew Neck T-shirt. The t-shirt, featured in the designer's Spring/Summer 2014 line, takes inspiration from urban street art that is translated through Kao's abstract and color-infused floral graphics.

Resembling free-flowing organic elements, Kao's artful flower creations are showcased using red, yellow, orange, pink and black strokes. The artist's unique and colorful forms are displayed atop a bold white backdrop that allows them to pop and catch one's eye.

When transferred to fabric, the final result is a visually vivid textile print, perfect for a men's statement tee. While Jil Sander's recent return to her private label has been focused on minimalism, this embrace of color and print is a nod to the brand's predecessor Raf Simons, known for re-branded the monochromatic fashion house with his injection of print and color.
