The Amida Digitrend Open Sapphire timepiece is a decidedly retro-futuristic accessory that will call to mind the original Digitrend from the 1970s, but aims to give it a decidedly modernized overhaul.
The watch swaps the traditional steel case that covers the previous models for a custom sapphire crystal to give it an open-concept design. This compound-curved piece of optical-grade sapphire glass requires more than 20 hours to be shaped and polished, but results in a tough profile and a peak inside the watch's inner workings.
The Amida Digitrend Open Sapphire timepiece measures in at 39.6mm for the base of the stainless steel case and is powered by the Soprod Newton P092 automatic movement. Priced at CHF 4,850, the watch is limited to 150 examples.
