The second-most-common language spoken in the United States is Spanish, and in an effort to reflect its demographic, Amazon's Alexa now speaks Spanish. The virtual assistant can seamlessly switch between English and Spanish without needing to change languages in Amazon's settings.
While this feature has been available in Mexico and Spain for some time, it only recently launched in the United States despite the fact that many argue that the United States has the second-largest Spanish speaking community in the world. This feature will be largely beneficial for first-generation immigrant familes where parents may primarily speak one language while the children primarily speak another. It will also be useful for bilingual individuals who speak both languages.
