Marathon Tours & Travel Debuts Amazon Marathon

Marathon Tours & Travel has launched the inaugural Amazon Marathon, a limited-capacity endurance event scheduled for September 2026 in Puerto Maldonado on the edge of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. This cardio experience offers distances of a full marathon, half marathon, and 10.5 kilometres on a looped jungle trail course.

Marathon Tours & Travel has positioned the Amazon Marathon as a fully hosted package, meaning that participants who choose to engage in this challenge will get domestic transfers in Peru, pre-race accommodation and welcome activities in Lima, race-week lodging in jungle lodges, on-site support staff, and an optional post-race extension to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.

Total participation for Marathon Tours & Travel’s Amazon Marathon is intentionally capped to approximately 50 runners to maintain an intimate atmosphere. All in all, the experience offers a rare convergence of physical exertion, ecological wonder, and cultural immersion.
