UK's Alton Towers Implements Speedo Ban

Alton Towers' Speedo ban is the latest of the UK amusement park's comical dress code policies. Just this past May, Alton Towers announced a ban on high heels for children to prevent them from wearing heels to cheat the height requirements on rides.

Park representatives say that the Alton Towers Speedo ban is more about preserving the family-friendly atmosphere of the park than embarrassing banana hammock wearers. "We feel this small brief style is not appropriate for a family venue so we are advising male bathers to wear more protective swimwear such as shorts," said Morwenna Angove--who is the sales and marketing director for Alton Towers--to the Guardian.
