The Alo Yoga x American Ballet Theater Merges Dance and Streetwear

In the Alo Yoga x American Ballet Theater collaboration, fans of the Los Angeles-based luxury activewear brand will find performance designs, loungewear and fashion-forward pieces that advance what people usually associate with traditional ballet attire. "The ‘Ballet Pink’ collection [is] designed to merge the world of ballet with streetwear, evolving our studio-to-street mentality,” Abby Gordon, chief design and merchandising officer at Alo Yoga said in a press release.

Ballet is often perceived as a delicate and ethereal art form, but the attire worn by ballerinas must be durable and supportive to withstand the rigorous demands of each performance. As such, the balletcore-inspired capsule includes everything from sports bras and lace-up leggings to cut-off sweatshirts and knitted leg warmers.

The limited-edition styles from the Alo Yoga x ABT capsule collection are modeled by principal dancers from one of the most revered dance companies in the world.
