The Acer Aspire R-Series Machines Pivot Between Laptop and Tablet Modes

The Acer Aspire R-Series laptop series consists of two convertible Windows 1.8 laptops with 13 and 14 inch screen options. The two machines can both be switched between laptop and tablet mode, albeit in different ways.

The Aspire R13 uses an easel hinge to switch between modes. The frame only extends as far as the display's tilt point rather than wrapping itself all the way around the screen, making for an elegant appearance. The machine comes in either 1,920 x 1,080 or quad-HD 2,560 x 1,440 display options.

Meanwhile, the R14 has a 14-inch monitor and comes with 12 GB of RAM and a 1 terabyte hard drive. It also has a dedicated Nvidia GeForce 820M graphics card.

The Acer Aspire R-Series machines will launch in October.
