Architect Tan Yamanouchi works in collaboration with AWGL on a Cat Tree House, which is a home located in Kamakura, Japan. It is made specifically for his family and cats with the purpose of creating a comfortable space for the felines with an interior space that allows them to climb and play. It is inspired by the form of a cat tree applied to the home's structure and design as the spaces branch out from the central staircase.
Tan Yamanouchi explains to Dezeen, "The main aim behind this project was to design a house regarding our two cats as two clients. This building is for my home and studio where my wife and I live with our two cats. We thought that our cats might actually know more about how to enjoy a house than we do. That's why I came up with the concept of asking my two cats, as an architect, how they enjoy their home."
