Wireless Marker-Free Scanning Systems

SHINING 3D Unveiled Its EinScan Trak

SHINING 3D introduced the EinScan Trak, a wireless tracking and scanning system that combines a spherical scanner with a detachable handheld laser scanner. In tracking mode, the system can scan without markers placed on the object, while the handheld scanner can also operate marker-free on feature-rich surfaces.

The scanner module can be removed from the spherical unit and used independently within the same project, giving operators flexibility between larger-area tracking and close-up handheld capture. SHINING 3D positioned the dual-form design as a way to reduce reliance on separate scanning systems and simplify setup. The EinScan Trak went on sale Aug. 19, 2026, for $6,999.

For professional users, the system could streamline workflows that require both broad surface capture and more detailed handheld scanning, reducing setup friction while improving mobility across complex scanning environments.

Marker-free 3D Capture
Marker-free scanning reduces preparation time and expands digitization use cases across irregular, delicate, or high-value objects where adhesive targets are impractical.
Hybrid Scanning Workflows
Dual-form systems combine wide-area tracking with detachable close-up capture, creating opportunities for consolidated hardware platforms that replace fragmented scanning toolkits.
Wireless Inspection Mobility
Cable-free scanning improves movement around complex environments, supporting faster on-site documentation, inspection, and reverse-engineering processes.

Industries Being Reshaped

3D Scanning
Integrated wireless and marker-free capabilities signal a shift toward more flexible professional scanning systems that simplify adoption for technical teams.
Manufacturing
Advanced portable capture tools can enhance quality control, product development, and maintenance workflows by making precise measurement easier outside fixed metrology labs.
Industrial Design
Flexible handheld and tracking-based digitization supports faster iteration by bridging large object capture and fine-detail modeling in a single workflow.
